- A native of Seattle, I have been living and working overseas for the past 8 years. I live now in Malawi, in Southern Africa, with my family. I love to cook, but living in remote and sometimes pretty rustic conditions has meant I have had to go back to the basics. There is no boxed brownie mix for sale in Darfur. This blog is dedicated to sharing the family recipes I grew up with and the delicious new classics I have added. Everything is from scratch, of course, and we make do with what we can get. I hope you enjoy the recipes I've shared here, and please let me know if you try them and like them!
